My Path to Sound Healing
Welcome to Wild Garden Wellness, I’m delighted you’re here. I'm Laura Baker, a certified sound therapist and yoga teacher with a passion for yoga, mindfulness, wellness, and the transformative power of sound healing.
My journey into yoga began during a demanding phase of my life, juggling three jobs, including bartending. Seeking a release for stress, I discovered a yoga class that not only rejuvenated my body but also brought immense mental benefits. This pivotal moment ignited my desire to share this peace with others. In 2019, I completed the Flow Yoga Center 200 Teacher Training in Washington, D.C., paving the way for me to teach both in the city and virtually to college athletes.
Yoga was my gateway to the broader realm of wellness, leading me to the enchanting world of sound healing. As a lifelong music enthusiast, I stumbled upon sound healing through Jhené Aiko's Chilombo album, where crystal singing bowls were artfully incorporated. This discovery led me to Jeralyn Glass, a sound healing pioneer, and Jhené Aiko’s teacher. Captivated by the bowls' resonating sounds and their profound impact on my well-being, I underwent training in LA with Jeralyn, expanding my world.
Now, with Wild Garden Wellness, I'm excited to bring the benefits of sound therapy and yoga to the greater Cincinnati area. Rooted in my commitment to slowing down and returning to oneself, Wild Garden Wellness provides a nurturing space for everyone to cultivate their inner wild garden, embrace tranquility, and foster a holistic mind-body-spirit connection for overall well-being.
Bringing Wild Garden Wellness to Life
Let me share the story of Wild Garden Wellness's origins. My bond with my grandparents, whom I affectionately call my earth angels, is profound. We spend quality time together every week, and one evening, while enjoying a gardening show with my Grandma—who possesses an ardent passion for gardening—we delved into the topic of garden styles. In the Victorian era, gardens were meticulously manicured, sculpted into perfection, every element impeccably trimmed and shaped. However, over time, the rigid structure of Victorian gardens gave way to the concept of the wild garden. This notion celebrated the beauty of allowing nature to unfold organically, without human intervention, without constraints or shaping. The idea resonated deeply with me, crystallizing the purpose behind what would become Wild Garden Wellness. I envisioned merging the transformative power of sound therapy with the ethos of providing a sanctuary where individuals could flourish naturally, unhindered by societal pressures. In a world inundated with directives dictating who we should be, Wild Garden Wellness offers a respite—a space for individuals to embrace their innate essence, to nurture their own wild garden and watch it bloom.
